How to choose my store?

1. Define your need

Are you tired of the heat preventing you from enjoying your balcony or terrace in summer?

THE exterior blind is essential in our region! Practical, efficient and design the awning has many advantages. Inexpensive compared to the installation of a pergola, the awning will nevertheless offer a beautiful shaded area thanks to its inclination, while preserving the aesthetics of your home once closed. In addition, the installation of an awning is often popular in buildings managed by condominiums, which is not the case for pergolas or other extensions. First, the first question is to know if you are in an apartment with opposite, in this case the "intimacy" side is important and you will opt for specific blinds with strong inclinations, or if you are in a detached house or without opposite, here the main thing being to create a shaded area while remaining stylish to fit perfectly into the style of your home.

2. Choice of model

There are 4 main types of awning:

The traditional store: the awning wraps around its axis, without protection unless a "cap" is added (optional). This awning has a very good value for money and can be installed on a terrace or a balcony.

The box awning: all the elements of the awning fold up completely in a box. It is the most durable blind because all the elements will be protected. It is particularly recommended for homes by the sea.

The semi-box awning: the canvas folds into a trunk but not the arms. The semi-chest ensures a good lifespan of the canvas. Its affordable price allows a good compromise between traditional awning and box.

The one-piece blind: the awning is delivered pre-assembled, you just have to hang it up but the fabric and the arms are not protected unless you add a cap (optional). The one-piece blind is at an affordable price and will have the advantage of being easy to assemble and also to troubleshoot! If the awning is not placed under a balcony or a roof, it is advisable to equip it with a cap to protect the canvas.

We mainly install traditional blinds, box or monobloc which are the most popular. You Advisor MVA will be able to guide you as best as possible depending on the layout of your home and the mounting options you have.

3. Choice of installer

As with all joinery installations, we strongly recommend calling on professionals to benefit from the manufacturer's guarantees as well as the installer's ten-year warranty. Because, in addition to the technical difficulty of the installation, there is also the “security” factor to take into account. Indeed, a store can weigh very heavy, but if it is poorly fixed it is not impossible that it will come off (see tearing off the wall), following a gust of wind or bad weather. There is therefore a great risk that the awning will fall on a person or even damage property. Thus, it is important to call on a professional who, first of all, can advise you on the choice of a suitable model, but also ensures an installation that meets manufacturer standards to guarantee safety.
